Weather club.

Weather club.
We have a weather club in our school.  In weather club we measure the temperature, earth pressure, precipitation and other things, which we then write on the paper.   Before writing those things down we had to have a big paper in which we had to record all of the things we have done in the weather club.   The whole point of it is that at the end of the year we can compare last year’s climate with these years climate and see how much it changed.      Every person, who attends weather club, has a partner.  My partner is Katya.  We work collaboratively together.  In my opinion we also show perseverance and commitment in this activity.
Other outcomes, which weren’t present, are:

  • Increased their awareness of their own stength and areas for growth
  • Engaged with issues of global importance
  • Considered the ethical implications of their actions
  •  Developed new skills
  • Planned and initiated activities
  • Undertook new challenges.

Art club.

There is an art club every Wednesday after school. Attending art club is very enjoyable and interesting.  In art club l drew a lot of different things.    I also have an opportunity to finish some of my art projects there.   At the end of November there will be a play in our school, which is called “ little prince”.  I am supposed to do the costumes for that play.   All of us: Ester,  Ilona and me are involved in that project.  We can talk and plan, and come up with different ideas about it in art club.   In my opinion by attending art club l showed perseverance and commitment because we are planning the play and after two weeks we will have a meeting on the weekend at school to help more with the costumes and other things, which are needed for the play “little prince”

Creativity.

Poem writing
I thought a lot about writing music for piano  and l wrote it in a very long time.  The music was finished but l thought that l need to write a lyrics to it.  This poem is not what it was supposed to be.    I planned that it will be lyrics to music but it turned to be a poem.     When l started writing, the only thing that l could think of was friendship.  So the theme of the poem is friendship.
For a good Friend!
If you are in trouble
And don’ t know what to do,
Someone will be there,
Taking care of you.

In a time of darkness
Someone brings the light,
Showing you the wonders
Of a moonless night

Telling you all the secrets
You didn’t know before,
Telling you all the stories
More and more and more

But if she is in trouble
You will go and help,
Because in the end
That’s what you do,
For you, good friend!
Poems are the forms of compositions that are designed to form the emotions, experiences, ideas and feelings.  I tried my best to write what l felt.  This poem addresses to my best friend.  By writing and planning what to write l undertook new challenges.  I used to write short stories but l  have never never wrote a poem before.

Raffle tickets.

Raffle tickets
Halloween Party was very interesting, however students didn’t buy   all of the snacks and that is why a lot of them were left.   Because of that our teacher decided that we will have a raffle ticket.   The price for the winner was a bag of snacks, which was equally divided into six bags.  It included:  cheeps, chocolates and other sweets.   Mr O’Connor made a tickets, which were supposed to be sold due Wednesday.   First day a lot of girls from year 12 volunteered to sell the tickets.  I also joined them.  In my opinion by doing this l showed perseverance and commitment.  We did our best to sell all of the tickets.  Other five outcomes, which weren’t present, are:
·     Planned and initiated activities
·     Engaged with issues of global importance.
·     Considered the ethical implications of their actions.
·     Increased their awareness of their own strength and areas for growth.
·     Developed new skills.

Halloween Party

On the   29th of November   we had a Halloween in our school.  It was a fascinating day.  A lot of children had fun and they actually said that it was the best disco at school, which they have ever had.  Halloween was on Friday.   It is hard to imagine Halloween without its main symbol “pumpkin”.  So to make the disco room nicer student’s had to buy pumpkins and carve them.  They were a lot of students, who bought them and carved them in the Geography room.  It was a very interesting process for me, because l have never carved.  Even if my pumpkin wasn’t the best one I felt glad that l have bought one.  By doing that l developed new skills and undertook new challeges.   I hope that next year l will have a better skills of doing that and l can actually teach my brother or other small children how to carve a pumpkin.  Before the Disco party started, IB students decorated the room in which the disco had to take place.  l worked collaboratively with others, because if we didn’t then the room wouldn’t be as beautiful as it was.
Everyone in the school was supposed to come in the Halloween costumes.  There were a lot of scary and funny ones.  I chose a costume of a skeleton.  Year 13 students bought a lot of snacks and made sandwiches.  The whole point of doing that was to collect some money for the charity and of course so that students will have something to eat in the party.   There were a lot of volunteers to cell snacks from year 12.  We were taking turn on selling them.  Me and Yungcu sold quiet a lot of food but therefore it was not all of the food.  In my opinion l have shown perseverance and commitment in that activity.
Other three outcomes, which weren’t present, are:
·     Planned and initiated activities.
·     Engaged with issues of global importance.
·     Considered the ethical implications of their actions.

We all had a great time and enjoyed the Halloween party.

International Day.

                           International Day

There are a lot of people from different countries in our school.  We all know a bit about those countries but they are something’s of what we are not aware.  Every country has it’s own culture and history.  International day is a very good opportunity for every student to show his or her culture.
We had an International day in the school.  All students were  allowed to bring their traditional food,  come to school dressed up in the national costume and they also could perform a national song,  dance or play on the instrument.  In that day there were  food form a lot of countries,  and it was served by IB students and also parents who were helping their children. Every student had to prepare for the international day.  I decided to bring “paklava”.  It is the national  food,  which is sweet.  People usually drink it with tea,  because of its sweetness.   I didn’t know how to bake it so my mom thought me and helped to bake it.  By doing that  I undertook new challenges   and also the International day was a new challenge for me.   To my mind by learning how to cook l also developed new skills. On that day IB students also had to think of the activities,  which they  had to plan.  Me,   Ester and Ilona  were in one group and that is why we decided that we will do the flag painting in the art room.  I worked collaboratively with them.  We helped a lot of students to make flags and also painted our own flags. Our activity also included face painting, which was very interesting and a lot of students liked having their flags painted on their faces.  Our group   planned and initiated those activities and in my opinion we also showed perseverance and commitment by running those activities.

After the activities all IB students went to set up a room where there were supposed to be food from a lot of countries.  There were variety of food,  l was glad that l could introduce my national food to other students because not a lot of people know about the cuisine of Azerbaijan.   A lot of students and teachers enjoyed eating and having fun but these was not all.  After that there had to be a performance in the hall.  There were a lot of nice performances.   Some of the students were dancing, singing playing on the different instrument.  I also performed by playing on piano.  This was also a challenge for me because l have never played in front of so many people, which made me very nervous.
Other outcomes, which weren’t present, are:
·      Increased  their awareness of their own strength and areas for growth.
·      Engages with issues of global importance.
·      Considered the ethical implications of their actions.
·      Developed new skills.

I really enjoyed being on the International day, because l learned a lot of things about variety of countries by seeing their costumes and tasting their national food.

Sports day.

We had a sports day at school.  The whole school including students and teachers were participating in different games like Dutch ball, football, basketball, volleyball, running and the final game was the race around the school.  Teachers divided us into four different groups; the group which l was in was called Gogol.  Other three groups were Gogol’, Tolstoy,Chekov and Pushkin.
It was a perfect sunny day and everyone were positively motivated.  Our first game was a Dutch ball.   .  Our next game was   football and after that we went to a gym to play basketball.  In all of our activities we worked collaboratively with others and considered ethical importance of our actions.  A game which l really liked was called ‘’  Mr Tom game ‘’.  Every team had to plane their own strategy.  We had to plan it wisely in order to not lose the game.  I think that all of the school showed perseverance and commitment in their actions.  In the last activity we had to  stand in the line in our team and pass the ball from first person to a last person.  A team,  which finished earlier than the others was supposed to win.  I never did these kind of activities before so I think that I undertook new challenges .
Other four outcomes, which weren’t present, were:
Undertook new challenges.
Increase our knowledge about areas for growth
Engaged with issues of global importance
Developing new skills
Planning and initiated activities
Everyone tried hard; they were some people, which were good at one kind of sports and some in other.   I think that the most important thing is the timework and is when people plan something and use the strategy.  So many men so many minds.

Moscow Fun Run.

On the 12th of September some students from year 12 and some from 13 went to Moscow fun run.  It was taking place around the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Red Square, and the St Basils Cathedral. Our group had to run 10 km. They were thousands of people, which were running even more than 10 km.
In the Moscow Marathon they were a lot of elderly people and they were actually running better that young people.  Me and Kathya were two girls in the group and we were running together.  I think that it was a very beautiful place to have a Marathon.  I never participated in Marathon before, so I think that I undertook new challenges.  To tell the truth I wasn’t running very good but l was trying to.  Sometimes I was walking.  I didn’t take a very good place at the end of the marathon and didn’t get any medal, but still I think that I showed perseverance and commitment in the activity.
Other six outcomes, which weren’t present, are:
v Increased their awareness of their own strengths areas for growth
v Planned and initiated activities
v Worked collaboratively with others
v Engaged with issues of global importance
v Considered the ethical implications of their actions
v Developed new skills
Taking part in the Moscow fun run and running/walking in the most beautiful historical places of Moscow with my classmates and teachers was a good experience for me.

Bitsevsky park

On the 3’rd of September our class went to an ecological park. The purpose of visiting the park was to defecate the park from pollution. We got a pare of gloves and bags for garbage, we were parted into groups. In this activity we worked collaboratively with others. We worked during an hour. Then we returned to school and divided the trash, which we collected into two groups: recycling and non-recycling. That increased our knowledge about areas for growth. I undertook new challenges because it was an unfamiliar activity for me.

I think that it is an important thing to collect trash, because we are helping the environment to be clean even if it was a small area. That is why there were outcomes of engaging with issues of global importance.

Other four outcomes, which weren’t present, are:

• Developing new skills.

• Considering ethical importance of our actions.

• Show perseverance and commitment in our activities.

• Planning and initiated activities.

They are a lot of problems in the world connected with ecology. Pollution and energy consumption have created such planet-wide problems as massive deforestation and depletion. I think people have to realize that environmental problems are very important and stop pollution of world.
