For creativity part of my IB programme i decided to choose to learn how to sew. I was very bad at sewing but always wanted to learn how to sew and make pictures. To do so I bought a special sewing painting from a shop. I chose a flower picture and all of the materials were already inside it. I had lots of different threads, with variety of colours. Special wood like circle on which I held the material and needles. The material on, which I sew was not very big, smaller than an A4 paper but it was a bit challenging as I had to sew in the right order and match all the colours. I
undertook new challenges as well as
developed new skills. Showed
perseverance and commitment of my actions as it took me retty long time to finish sewing. I also
planned and initiated my own activity because I did it for 30 minutes twice a week. In my opinion by doing this activity I also
increased my awareness of my own strength and areas for growth.
Other outcomes, which weren't present are:
- Engaged with issues of global importance
- considered ethical implication of my actions
I also really enjoyed sewing :) and will definitely do it again in future!
