Winter Sports Day !!

The sports day in our school is always interesting but this sports day was the best one  for me and I think most of the students enjoyed it.
It is already spring but it is still snowing.  Some people might want warm weather to come faster but on the sports day at BIS students were happy that it is still snowing.
As an IB students year 12th and 13th  had to organise different activities for other year groups.   There were a lot of different types of intertaining activities as castle making, finding tressure and etc. The activity, which my group run was making a snowman :) My partners in the group were Yein and Nasha.
Firstly the day before the sports day we had to prepare for our activity and find all the needed materials for making a snowman.  Mr O'Connor showed us a room where we could take different kinds of beautiful decorations.  We chose some of them,  bought carrots for the snowman's nose and brought some extra scarfs and decorations.
We had four year groups coming to the activity and first of the groups was year 8.  Before the winter sports day, I was never in charge of so many kids.  Therefore I undertook new challenges and understood how hard is it to be a teacher and explain to so many children what to do. I worked collaborately with Yein and Nasha.
We have recorded all the scores for the teams.  All the snowman's wich students made were very nice and creative,  but the best scores we gave to year 10 students,  because their snowman's were like a sculptures.  By running this activity i increased my own strenght and areas for growth.  And I also think that i have shown perseverance and commitment.  The materials and decorations were getting used up very quickly and that is why we were choosing new decorations before each year group came.
All the students were very confident and they also had a lot of fun.  I am happy that the activity went on very well and the snowman's and sculptures are still at BIS, they are making a view of school nicer.
By running the activity I also considered the ethincal implications of my own actions.
THe outcomes,  which were not present:

Me Yein and Nasha also decided to do some sculptures from the snow.  We also wanted to make a snowman but unfortunately we didn't have time.  However we (and mostly Yein) made a very cute Mickey Mouse :)
  • engaged with issues of global importance.
  • planned and initiated activities.
  • developed new skills.
