The International Day

Every country has it’s own culture and history.  International day is a very good opportunity for every student to show his or her culture.
We had an International day in the school.  All students were  allowed to bring their traditional food,  come to school dressed up in the national costume and they also could perform a national song,  dance or play on the instrument. Food was served by IB students and parents.  I decided to bring "Dovga"  to school. I undertook new challenge because i never cooked it before.  I also brought   "paklava",  it is a sweet cooky,  which is relevant to all Turk countries.
On that day IB students had to do activities for another students.  The group,  which i was in was doing face paint and we also did henna tattoo.  I developed new skills because it was the first time for me to do henna tattoo.  We all worked collaboratively with others in our groups and planned and initiated our activities.  All the equipments that we used were organized by ourselves and we were in charge of our own activities. I think that by running all of those activities we showed perseverance and commitment. After the activities all IB students went to set up a room where there were supposed to be food from a lot of countries.  There were variety of food. A lot of students and teachers enjoyed eating and having fun.  After we ate we headed towards the gym where great performance of a lot of students took place.  There were a lot of nice performances.   Some of the students were dancing, singing playing on the different instrument.  Students from my year also performed and they did very well.  After the performance was over we helped to clean up the rooms and put things in order.  International day was very interesting and i think everyone enjoyed it.
