Helping people.

There are a lot of people all over the world who need help.  The number of children in the orphanages and homeless people increases over the past years.  And I think that people  who have an opportunity to help them have to use it!
Because even a small help as an organizing a Birthday party or showing a play to children in the orphanages will probably make them feel happy or change the lives of other people!
I chose three of the charities,  which are:
1)  Club of Volunteers.  It is a club,  which gives an opportunity to people to visit the orphanages.  They are going there every week on weekends and other time,  which you can choose.  We can show a play to children, teach them English, read books for them in English,  or   even organize watching movies with them.
2) AGS Worldwide Movers.  It is the charity that takes our discarded clothes,  furniture and other belongings and deliver them to a charity of our own choice.  We can contact them and give everything that we want to a charity!
3) This charity is called jazz charity and it is very famous in Russia!  I found myself and thought that it is a very good charity.  Fond Jazz is a charity that looks after children and adults who have cancer.  Those people my be from orphanages or they might be a very poor people who don't have enough money for the operation.  People all over  Russia donate money to this charity and if you go to their webpage,  you can choose who you want to donate for.  They are informations for each sick person and his/her disease(cancer).  It doesn't matter how much you donate.  A person can make a donation through their webpage or the bank.  Their site is:  фонд.джаззиклассика.рс

Weather Club.

We have a weather club in our school.  In weather club we measure the temperature, earth pressure, precipitation and other things, which we then write on the paper.   At the end of the year we can compare last year’s climate with these years climate and see how much it changed.      My partner in Weather club is Sabina.  We are helping to complete the set of data,  that can be used to study climate change. Therefore we are promoting awareness of the issue of the climate change.  CIimate is an issue of Global Importance and that is why by doing this activity I engage with the global importance.  In our groups we work collaboratively together.  In my opinion we also show perseverance and commitment in this activity.
Other outcomes, which weren’t present, are:

  • Increased their awareness of their own stength and areas for growth
  • Considered the ethical implications of their actions
  •  Developed new skills
  • Planned and initiated activities
  • Undertook new challenges.

Teaching russian.

Two weeks ago i have met a wonderful couple who are our neighbours.  They are newlyweds and are from Azerbaijan.  I learned that  a girls is from a small village of Azerbaijan,  which is not very developed.  She never studied russian before and never new that will meet a person who lives and works in Russia.  My new friend is a nice person,  so i thought that if she really wants to learn Russian and since her husband doesn't have a time to teach her,  I can try to teach her something.
So far we have had only three lessons and in these lessons I taught her how  to write with a russian letters and we learned some basic words,  which we need in every day life.  She is a very smart and hard working girl so now she can buy something from a shop and can read russian letters.
I think that after a year or less she will be able to understand and speak Russian very well.
By doing this I have undertook new challenges,  because never before I taught someone.  I understood that it is a pleasant feeling when you teach something and a person understands and makes a lot of improvement in that area of knowledge.  I planned and initiated this activity because we had to know at what time we will start the lesson and what books we will need.  I gave her my brothers Azbuka book and now she can practice reading and making some improvements on her own.  In my opinion we both showed perseverance and commitment in our activity because it is  hard to teach and it is hard to understand the language which you have never studied before.  But we have managed to have an interesting,  enjoyable and a cognitive lessons because we are almost the same age and we are friends.
Other four outcomes,  which are not present:
  • ·     Increased the awareness of their own strength and areas for growth.
  • ·     Engaged the issues of global importance.
  • ·     Considered the ethical implications of their actions.
  •   Worked collaboratively with others

Swimming and Running.

Sports play a big role in our life. People all over the world are fond of different types of sports.  It helps people to stay in a good shape and have a good health.
As my activity I chose swimming and running.  Those are my favorite types of sports.  I am going to a swimming pool once a week and trying to run every week.  I also encourage my small brother to run with me because it is much more interesting to run together and i also want him to be in a good shape.
By  doing this in my opinion I showed perseverance and commitment  because since September i haven't missed any swimming and running days.
Other 6 outcomes which weren't present are:

There is an art club every Thursday during lunch. Attending art club is very  interesting.  In the art club students have the opportunity to be creative and to learn a lot of things.   I am painting a picture for my friends wedding and i hope that i will finish it soon.   By attending art club I develop new skills in terms of the style of painting.  I think that i am also  showing perseverance and commitment because I  spend a lot of time on painting that picture and planning my time,  so that i can finish it on time and make a  good  present for my friend.

The International Day

Every country has it’s own culture and history.  International day is a very good opportunity for every student to show his or her culture.
We had an International day in the school.  All students were  allowed to bring their traditional food,  come to school dressed up in the national costume and they also could perform a national song,  dance or play on the instrument. Food was served by IB students and parents.  I decided to bring "Dovga"  to school. I undertook new challenge because i never cooked it before.  I also brought   "paklava",  it is a sweet cooky,  which is relevant to all Turk countries.
On that day IB students had to do activities for another students.  The group,  which i was in was doing face paint and we also did henna tattoo.  I developed new skills because it was the first time for me to do henna tattoo.  We all worked collaboratively with others in our groups and planned and initiated our activities.  All the equipments that we used were organized by ourselves and we were in charge of our own activities. I think that by running all of those activities we showed perseverance and commitment. After the activities all IB students went to set up a room where there were supposed to be food from a lot of countries.  There were variety of food. A lot of students and teachers enjoyed eating and having fun.  After we ate we headed towards the gym where great performance of a lot of students took place.  There were a lot of nice performances.   Some of the students were dancing, singing playing on the different instrument.  Students from my year also performed and they did very well.  After the performance was over we helped to clean up the rooms and put things in order.  International day was very interesting and i think everyone enjoyed it.

IB presentation to year 10/11

On the 20th of September year 12 students had to introduce IB to IGCES students.  We had to make a power point presentations. We were divided into our house groups.  Each group chose different topics on which they wanted to make their presentation.  Our group decided to introduce "6 subjects"  to year 10 and 11 students.
I undertook new challenges because i never made a presentation in front of a big audience.  We also planned and initiated our activity,  because we rehearsed before making a presentation.  Our year worked  collaboratively with others and considered ethical importance of our actions.
I think that our presentations worked out well  and everyone liked them,  because they were interesting,  funny and cognitive at the same time.

Other  four outcomes,  which weren't present are:

  • Increased our knowledge about areas for growth
  • Engaged with issues of global importance
  • Developed new skills
  • showed perseverance and commitment in their actions

The 1st of September.

The 1st of September.
On the first day of the school year 13 students had planned the activities we had to overcome. Our big class was separated into 5 groups. The first activity was charades . We had to describe a word written on a paper with other relevant synonyms so our group would guess the answer.
In the second and funniest activity we had to prevent balloons from falling on the floor. It was quite hard, because every 3 seconds new balloons were added. The third activity was challenging. Our group had to build a tower from 20 papers and 5 sellotapes. Before building the tower we asked the opinion of each person in our group. We worked collaboratively with others in order to achieve the goal.

After all of those activities we had to construct a kite. Since I have never constructed a kite by myself I developed new skills and undertook new challenges. The materials we had were: garbage bag, sellotapes and sticks. After constructing our kites we headed towards Bitzevsky Park to run them. In this activity, we had a lot of fun and almost all of our handmade kites run very well.
Other 5 outcomes, which weren’t present:
• Increased the awareness of their own strength and areas for growth.
• Planned and initiated activities.
• Shown perseverance and commitment in their activities.
• Engaged the issues of global importance.
