♥ Valentines Day DIsco ♥

Every Year IB students organise the valentines disco.  All year 12 and 13 students have to take part in it and to do so we were split up into different groups.  Students could choose what they wanted to do.
I decided to first do the valentines Day posters and make different decorations.  Yein helped me with the decorations and taught me  a very simple  technique to make harts from the coloured papers,  that really looked pretty  !! :) And I developed new skills.
In period 6 and 7 we went to decorate the hole. I worked collaboratively with others. Other students also made decorations and once we put them all up in the hole the disco was ready to start.
After the disco started I joined  students to help them  with the sandwich selling.  At first they were no children who bought sandwiches but then after couple of minutes the small psychology room was full of people ordering delicious sandwiches.  Sometimes it was hard to remember who ordered what but then we started to write the names of students and it worked out very well. I considered the ethical implications of my actions because me and other students were very kin to sell more sandwiches and raise more money for the charities. I also undertook new challenges because I have never before took so many orders from kids and made so manu sandwiches.
This Valentines Disco was the first one for me in BIS and I think that all the children really liked it and were quite happy.  By helping to set up the disco and selling food I increased my awareness of my own strenghts and areas for growth. and shown perseverance and commitment in my actions. However I think it would be better if more students came to the Disco.  That way we could make more profit,  sell more snacks and donate more money to the charities.
The CAS outcomes that weren't present  are :
  • Planned and initiateed activities
  • Engaged with issues of global importance
